Vijay’s strong speech lands him in trouble

These days, the public has become so much vigilant that they get any word of controversy, they immediately start offending them with ‘Memes’.

It had recently happened with director Lingusamy, who was so much hurt and so were their children that later the page that created ‘Lingusamy Memes’ apologised and decided to remove the page.

Now actor Vijay has fell into the issue with accordance to his recent speech at Nellai for the 50th day celebration of Kaththi. 

During the speech, he mentioned, “If our enemy talks softly, we have to talk softly. If he talks ‘Vera Maathiri’, then we should do the same.” Instantly, many micro-bloggers started forming the groups ‘#veramathirimemes’ and #veramathirivijay and posted some comments and pictures.

Suriya’s Masss climax goes the Mankatha way

Following the grand success of Mankatha and Biriyani, Venkat Prabhu has been briskly working on his upcoming film Masss starring Suriya and Nayantara in lead roles.

The film is reported to be a supernatural thriller laced with fantasy and horror elements. 

Recently, the entire crew is busy shooting for the climax portion after a schedule of 10days across the backdrops of a grand set work near Chengalpat. 

During the final fight sequence in Mankatha climax, there is a petrol bunk used as the backdrop and owing to the success sentiment, Venkat Prabhu has used the same set work for Masss climax as well.  

The climax portion will involve almost everyone in the crew including Suriya, Parthiepan, Samuthirakani, Jayaram and Madhu Sudhan Rao of Goli Soda fame. What will be surprising to see in the film’s climax is that we wouldn’t know who the good and baddie is.

Nanbenda audio launch on December 23

Following the grand success of Oru Kal Oru Kannadi and Idhu Kathiravelan Kadhal, producer-actor Udhayanidhi Stalin has almost completed working on his next film Nanbenda.

Touted to be a romantic comedy, the film brings back Nayantara together with Udhayanidhi for the second time after Idhu Kathiravelan Kadhal.

The film is produced by Udhayanidhi under the banner of Red Giant Movies and is directed by Jagdish, a former associate of Rajesh. 

Harris Jayaraj has composed music for this album and Sony BMG before few minutes had unveiled the news on its micro-blogging page that the audio launch of Nanbenda will happen on December 23.

It is worth mentioning that Harris Jayaraj had composed music for the previous films of Udhayanidhi Stalin titled Oru Kal Oru Kannadi and Idhu Kathiravelan Kadhal. As in all the previous films of Udhayanidhi, Santhanam will be playing the full length comedy role in this flick.

Shankar’s I trailer to be released today

Shankar’s most expected film ‘I’ starring Vikram and Amy Jackson in lead roles is getting ready for release on January 9, the tentative date before a week of Pongal festival.

The film is produced by Aascar Ravichandran at a whopping budget of 150Crores and has a lot of technical extravaganzas including AR Rahman’s newfangled music, P.C. Sriram’s visual magic and mind-boggling stunt works by Anal Arasu.

Moreover, the makeover works by Weta Studios, which worked for some of the Hollywood’s most celebrated top-charting films like Lord of the Rings et al has been involved in this project for the makeover of Vikram.

Reel Life Couple Saravanan-Meenakshi Tie Knot in Real Life

Reel life couple Saravanan (Senthil) and Meenakashi (Sreeja) has tied the knot in real life too.

Senthil and Sreeja became popular with the popular Tamil television serial "Saravanan Meenakshi" in which they played the title roles. The serial ran for six years and for two seasons. Their marriage on the serial was a grand affair with the presence of fans and even the family members of the actors. Unlike their reel-life marriage, their real life wedding was a simple, private affair held in Tirupati last week.

"Our fans are responsible for this marriage. Wherever we go, people tell us that we look like made-for-each-other couple. This actually sparked the right chord between us. We have worked for six years for the serial and more than love, I can say that we have developed a beautiful friendship and understanding during the shoot. It was only during the second season we actually thought of getting married," Senthil told the Times of India.

Talking about his private wedding, Senthil told the news daily that since his reel life wedding was held in a grand manner, they decided to hold the real life marriage in a private ceremony. He also stated that he was planning to officially announce the wedding to the media, but his driver had posted pictures of their marriage on the Internet prior to the announcement.

Senthil, who works as a Radio Jockey, is currently concentrating on his film assignments. The actor has starred in Cheran's "Thavamai Thavamirundhu" and a few other Tamil films. He was last seen doing a supporting role in Santhanam's "Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham." Recently, Senthil won the best actor award for his portrayal of Saravanan character in the serial at the recently held Vijay Telly awards, while Sreeja won the best actress award. "Saravanan Meenakshi" was chosen as the best serial at the awards ceremony.

Poojai falls in lines with Sandakozhi

Sandakozhi is a film which was released some nine years ago. This film which was directed by Lingusamy had Vishal, Raj Kiran, Ganja Karuppu, Meera Jasmine and Monika in the cast. This film was a great success.

Sathuranga Vettai to be remade in Hindi and Telugu

Director and actor Manobala has produced the film titled Sathuranga Vettai under the banner Picture House. Sathuranga Vettai features Nataraj, Ishra, Ponvannan, Ilavarasu and Piraisudan in important roles.

The film has been directed by H Vinoth. Sean Roldan has composed the music while K G Venkatesh has handled the camera. The songs and the trailer which was released recently is a huge hit amongst the people.

Lingusamy’s Thirupathi Brothers is releasing the film on 25th July. Even before the release of the film, efforts are being made to remake the film in Telugu and Hindi. For the first time, Thirupathi Brothers are putting their foot in Bollywood through the remake of Sathuranga Vettai.

It is expected that either Akshay Kumar or Ajay Devgan may don the lead role in the Hindi remake version while in Telugu Allu Arjun has been signed for the lead role. The director is yet to be decided.

Oviya to pair with Sarathkumar

Mundasupatti Part 2 soon

The film Mundasupatti got a roaring reception from the people as well as the critics. Now the production house is planning to produce part 2 of the film. Mundasupatti is a film which had Vishnu Vishal, Nanditha, Kaali, Ramadass and others in the cast. Ram Kumar had directed the film which was produced by Fox Star Studios and C.V Kumar.

The producers of Mundasupatti, which collected a whopping Rs 10.5 Crores in its 25 day run, have announced a sequel to the rib-tickling comedy. The interesting thing behind the planned sequel is that the producers are asking the audience to suggest an engaging plot for the sequel.

Mundasapatti’s story revolved around a village that believed in the superstition that one would die if photographed. The makers are on the lookout for another such superstition to take the sequel forward. Producers Fox Star Studios and C.V Kumar have also planned a special cash reward for the chosen script for the sequel.

It is very easy to become an actor but to sustain is very difficult: Actor Dhanush

Dhanush and Amala Paul have donned the lead role in the film titled Velai Illa Pattadhari. Cinematographer Velraj has directed this film which is being released this month. Dhanush has produced the film. A press meet was organized recently.

Dhanush while speaking at this meet said, "I came to cinema fourteen years back. Velai Illa Pattadhari is my 25th film. Those days it was very difficult to become an actor. After becoming an actor we can stand because of luck.

Now becoming an actor is very simple but it is very difficult to sustain one. The reason for me being in cinema for the last fourteen years is because of you people and my fans. Velai Illa Pattadhari has a good story. This film will be an important one in my career. I wanted actor Vivek to act in my 25th film. This has happened.

Amala Paul and I were supposed to pair a very long time back. Somehow this did not materialize. This has been fulfilled now. She has the next door girl image. She has acted well in Velai Illa Pattadhari. In 1980s and 90s, there wouldn’t be a film without Manorama. Now Saranya is donning the mother’s role in almost all the films. Samuthirakani and Saranya have donned my parent’s role. Their acting was really superb. Anirudh music is a great strength to the film. Very soon the film will hit the screens."


Actor Vivek while speaking said, "These days it is very difficult to produce a film and release it. In a week’s time, the film is been thrown out of the theatres. Small producers are in great danger. Numerous low budget films are yet to be released. Efforts should be made to release these films Otherwise cinema will also vanish like agriculture."

Other who spoke on this occasion were Amala Paul, Surabi, Samuthirakani, Rishi, music composer Anirudh, Saranya Ponvannan, producer Madhan and director Velraj.

Six producers join hands for quality films

Six producers have jointly floated a company called Dream Factory. In the Tamil film industry, it is very easy to produce a film but most of the producers are finding it difficult to effectively monetize their films after completing the production.

Since many producers are facing this problem, leading producers K.E. Gnanavel Raja (Studio Green), S. Sashi kanth (Y Not Studios), C.V. Kumar (Thiru Kumaran Entertainment), Elred Kumar (R.S. Infotainment Ltd), Abinesh Elangovan (Abi & Abi films) and Lakshman Kumar (Prince Pictures) – have jointly floated a company, Dream Factory.

The shareholders of the company say that the new initiative will strive to create a robust ecosystem, which will provide a seamless integration between the three important arms of any film production company – production, marketing and distribution of content.

As a start, the company will market and distribute films made by the six shareholders including Sarabham, Yaan, Madras, Kaaviya Thalaivan and Lucia.

Seven films including Madras and Salim to be released for Ramadan

Films Salim, Madras and Sathuranga Vettai are to be released on Ramadan day. Apart from these three Tamil films, the Hindi film Kick which has Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez in the lead roles is also to be released on that day.

Similarly three Hollywood films are to be released on the same day. One of them is the most anticipated film Hercules. Other Hollywood films to be released are Lucy and Magic in the Moon Light.

Mass is the title of Surya- Venkat Prabhu’s film

The teaser of the film was supposed to be released today but its associate producer Dhananjayan Govind later declared that it will be released within two weeks as a trailer since the censor certificate does not have the concept of teaser.
