Actress Madhu Shalini says that she does not like Tamil stories
She continued to act in his film titled Bhoot Returns. Since this film was a hit, she is getting opportunities to act in thriller films.
Madhu Shalini while speaking about this said, " I am getting lots of offers for thriller films after acting Bhoot Returns. I am also acting in another thriller film produced by a new production house. I am also acting in a Telugu film which is also a thriller film. I was not scared while acting in the thrilling sequences in the film Bhoot Returns.
I was not scared because the director, other cast and crew were with me. I shuddered when I saw the film in the theatre. I could not believe that I have acted in such thrilling sequences. I am getting offers in Tamil cinema but none of the stories are impressive. Hence I have decided to settle in Mumbai. I have decided to stay there and concentrate in Hindi films. Mumbai has given me a good recognition. I am enjoying it."
Oppressors of Nayanthara ashamed
A year back, Nayanthara was signed to play the role of Goddess Seetha in Telugu film ‘Sri Rama Jayam’. Soon as the news spread even to the far-flung corners of the town, there was a huge protest by a group of Hindu community regarding the actress playing the role of Seetha.
What provoked them was her marriage with Prabhu Deva, who had divorced his first wife Ramlatha.Unaffected by these protests, she gradually took up the offer and won incredible laurels for her outstanding performance.
Off the later, it was a moment to rejoice as everyone started praising her performance and even had her pictures as Seetha glued to their walls and public places. Moreover, she was awarded by State Government for her performance, which has apparently put those objectors in shame.

Engeyum Eppodhum director signs Vikram Prabhu
The filmmaker had earlier won incredible laurels for his spellbinding maiden debut Engeyum Eppodhum. Soon after the film’s success, the director was constantly receiving more offers from the big banners, but remained choosy.
It was later mentioned that director Saravanan will sign Arya for his next untitled film. The latest buzz on air is that Saravanan has zeroed down on Sivaji Ganeshan’s Kumki, who is now making his onscreen debut in Prabhu Solomon’s Kumki.
According to the sources, much alike his previous movie, Saravanan’s upcoming film will also be an exceptional project. The film is expected to go on floors by end of October and the complete details about cast and crew will be finalized shortly.
Vishwaroopam on September 14?
While Kamal Haasan’s fans are curiously awaiting the release of his upcoming film ‘Vishwaroopam’, the actor is remaining closemouthed on revealing the exact date. However, an inside report says that Kamal Haasan is planning to release the film on September 14.
Earlier plans were to release the film for Ramzan, but were postponed due to unknown reasons. The film is scheduled for simultaneous release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
Already the trailers have earned incredulous response among the masses, especially with Padmashree fans.
The film is produced by Kamal Haasan in collaboration with PVP Cinemas. Debutant Pooja Kumar and Andrea Jeremiah are starring opposite Kamal in female lead characters. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy have composed songs for the film and Sanu Varghese has handled cinematography.
Thuppaki is an action entertainer – A.R. Murugadoss
The film is close on the heels of completion and the post production works are on complete swing. The makers are planning to release the film on the festive occasion of Diwali while the audio launch is scheduled for somewhere in mid-of-September.
Shedding lights on the film, A.R. Murugadoss says, "Don’t perceive this film to be a hard action drama. It has lots of commercial elements and the romantic scenes between Vijay and Kajal Agarwal will be one of the greatest highlights in the film. The comedy sequences by Sathyan will be an additional attraction."Recently, a romantic song featuring Vijay and Kajal Agarwal was shot in foreign location.
Vaalu to compete with Maattrraan and Thuppaki
It looks like Young Superstar Silambarasan will have a box office clash with big stars Vijay and Suriya. It seems that producer SS Chakravarthy of Nic Arts is planning to release Simbhu’s ‘Vaalu’ on festive occasion of Diwali, which makes it a competition to Vijay’s ‘Thuppaki’ and Suriya starrer ‘Maattrraan’.
The film is reported to be a fun-filled romantic entertainer with more space for humour. Of course, with Santhanam and VTV Ganesh coming together on the screens, there aren’t going to be dearth of humour elements.
Hansika Motwani, who plays a gangster in Simbhu’s ‘Vettai Mannan’ shares the screen space with him in this film as well. Jai is playing a cameo role in this film and it’s worth mentioning that he is performing an important character in ‘Vettai Mannan’ as well.

Ram Charan, Amala..La La La..!

There is a stiff competition among Kajal Agarwal and Amala Paul as far as Telugu film industry is concerned. Nayak is a film which has Ram Charan in the lead role. This film is being directed by the ace director V V Vinayak.
Kajal Agarwal and Amala Paul are the two heroines of this film. Thaman is composing music for this film. The song Subaleka from the Chiranjeevi starrer Kondaveeti Donga is being remixed for this film. It has been planned to shoot the song sequence in the beautiful scenic places in Iceland.
Since Kajal Agarwal is busy acting in various films, she was not in a position to allot the dates which was requested. Hence it has been decided to shoot this song sequence which will have Amala Paul. Amala Paul is leaving today to Iceland to participate in the shooting. It is understood that she will be rocking in glamour in this song sequence.
Malaikottai combo again
There were news that Vishal and Boopathy Pandian will be joining hands once again after Malaikottai. Then there was news that this project was dropped due to difference of opinion between the two.
At this juncture, both of them are joining hands for a film. Vishal is currently acting in a film titled M G R (Madha Gaja Raja) directed by Sundar C. After completing M G R, Vishal has been signed for the lead role in a film to be directed by Boopathy Pandian.
Boopathy Pandian was directing a Telugu film which had Gopi Chand and Nayanthara in the lead roles. He quit this film due to some reasons. Soon after quitting this film, he has met Vishal and spoke to him. At that time, he narrated the one line story of his film. Vishal who was highly impressed asked Boopathy to narrate the entire story. After listening to the entire story, Vishal was very much interested and allocated the required dates for this film. Michael Rayappan who produced Nadodigal is producing this film. The shooting of this film will commence on 1st November. Talks are being held with a leading actress to pair with Vishal. It has been decided to shoot this film in Tirunelveli, Karaikudi and Trichy.

Vettai Mannan is a film which has Simbhu in the lead role. Hansika and Deeksha Seth are the two heroines of this film but the interviews they had given has now become a great head ache. Deeksha Seth while speaking in an interview has mentioned, "Hansika is donning the role of a gangster. I am donning the role of Simbhu’s lover. You decide who the heroine is."
Hansika while speaking in an interview said, " I am the heroine of Vettai Mannan. The story will journey on my character. Deeksha Seth merely dons the role of Simbhu’s lover. She will simply go and come now and then."
Simbhu is currently acting in Poda Podi and Vaalu. Only after completing these films, he will concentrate on Vettai Mannan. The interviews given by the two heroines have raised the eyebrows of many. Kollywood circle says, "It is alright if there is competition in acting, we don’t understand why there is competition in the interviews also."
I am not acting! : Udhayanidhi Stalin
The hottest rumour is that the yester year super hit film Aan Paavam is being remade and Udhayanidhi Stalin is the hero of this film. There was news that Santhanam will be donning the role which Pandian donned and Udhayanidhi Stalin will don the role which Pandiarajan donned.
To know the fact, we enquired about this. The information we got was that Udhayanidhi Stalin has not acquired the remake rights and only his friend has acquired the remake rights.
His friend has asked, " It would be better if you act in the remake of Aan Paavam." Udhayanidhi Stalin also saw this film. After seeing the film, he was not interested to don the lead role. So it is confirmed now that Udhayanidhi Stalin is not acting in the remake of Aan Paavam. Apart from this Udhayanidhi Stalin is going to produce a film which is to be directed by Sundar C. He has mentioned that he will don the lead role only if it suits him otherwise he will simply produce it.
Ajith is really a honourable person
Ajith has acted with actress Sridevi in few scenes in the film titled English Vinglish. Scenes pertaining to Ajith were shot in the studios in Mumbai. Though Ajith had acted only for few days, the entire crew of English Vinglish is praising him.
The reason for this is that Ajith has not received any remuneration for this. Apart from this Ajith has spent his own money for flight and hotel.

Sony acquires the audio rights of Rajni starrer Kochadaiyaan
This film which is being produced in 3D format has the music of A R Rahman. This film is being dubbed in Telugu with the title Vikrama Simha. Moreover this film is being dubbed in Hindi, Malayalam and Japanese and English languages.
It has been planned to release this film on 12th December which happens to be the birthday of Rajnikanth. At this juncture, Sony has acquired the rights of Kochadaiyaan. Ashok Parwani Associate Director - Marketing at Sony Music Entertainment while speaking said," "We are tremendously thrilled to be related with one of the biggest projects that not only appeals to the audiences in the south but to fans all over the world. Anirudh is frustrated because someone has stolen the Andrea kissing photo from his mobile
Recently stills featuring actress Andrea kissing music composer Anirudh was released. Andrea had mentioned that this photo was taken some 18 months back and she had intimate relationship with him at that point of time. She added that she is not in good terms with him now.
Anirudh while speaking about these pictures said, "The photo in which I was kissing Andrea was on my mobile phone. Someone without my knowledge has downloaded it and has posted in the websites. I have my own personal life.
I am upset about people commenting about it. That is an old photo which has come out now. I am not a person who kisses all the girls I see. I will not commit the mistakes which I had committed earlier. At this critical situation my family members are of a great support to me."
Prabhu Deva decides to unite with his wife
Prabhu Deva divorced his wife Ramlath last July. He gave compensation to his wife and children by the way of movable and immovable assets. Later on he decided to marry Nayanthara. He also made arrangements for their marriage in Mumbai.
Nayanthara also quit acting and embraced Hinduism in order to marry Prabhu Deva but all of a sudden their marriage did not take placed.
Both of them parted ways. The reason for this is still unknown. There was also news that Nayanthara prevented Prabhu Deva from seeing his first wife and children and because of this there were clash between the two and that was the reason for their separation.After parting ways with Nayanthara, Prabhu Deva settled in Mumbai and was directing Hindi films.
Now at this juncture, it is understood that Prabhu Deva had come to Chennai and met his first wife Ramlath. He has taken her to Mumbai along with his children. Ajith and his fight

The hero Varun is a singer. He comes to the stage but instead of singing the song which he had planned sings another song which begins with the lines Ninaivellam Nithya.
In the film Ninaivellam Nithya there is also another song Nee Thane Pon Vasantham. So I considered that this title would be suitable for my story.
Whenever I begin a film I will think of approaching Ilayaraja but later on I will not go to him. I wanted Ilayaraja to know about my work first.
When I penned the story for this film I decided that Ilayaraja only should compose music for this film. I approached him and he also agreed."
Sneha and Prasanna completes their honeymoon in New Zealand
Sneha and Prasanna had come back from New Zealand after completing their honeymoon trip. When asked Prasanna about this he said, "Our marriage took place on 11th May. After this, there was shooting for Sneha. She was busily acting in the film titled Haridass.
When she got a break in between, we went to New Zealand for our honeymoon. We stayed there for two weeks. Now we have returned to Chennai. I will be acting in a film directed by Rajan Madhav who had earlier directed Muran.

Vaalu to wrap up faster
Young Superstar Silambarasan is not leaving any stone unturned with his upcoming film ‘Vaalu’. The film is produced by SS Chakravarthy of Nic Arts and is directed by Vijay Chander.
Hansika Motwani stars opposite Simbhu in female lead role with Santhanam and VTV Ganesh ready to tickle your funny bones with their humour quotients. The shooting commenced before couple of months and the young superstar is taking scrutinizing efforts over completing the project as soon as possible as he is planning to release it for Diwali.
Recently, the second schedule was completed and Simbhu has flown down to Mumbai for shooting the climax song for his other film ‘Poda Podi’ that has Varalakshmi Sarathkumar romancing him.
The actor was earlier shooting for ‘Vettai Mannan’, which is temporarily shelved and will resume once STR is done with these projects.
Clash with director: Dhanush walks out of the shooting spot
Dhanush walked out of the shooting spot because the director did not call him. Dhanush is acting in a film titled Mariyaan which is being directed by Bharath Bala.
This film is being produced in Tamil, Hindi and English languages. The shooting of this film has taken place in Africa. Dhanush came up with his make up to participate in the shooting to the shooting spot.
He called the assistant of the director and told him to inform about his arrival. The director who was busy shooting other actors did not bother about Dhanush. Dhanush got aggravated about this. Initially the director had planned to shoot the sequences pertaining to Dhanush but later on decided to shoot the sequences pertaining to other actors.
Since Dhanush did not know about these changes, he got tensed. He had to wait for a long time. He called the assistant and told him," Kindly let me know whether there are any changes in the shooting. Ask the director himself to speak to me and tell when my portions will be shot." Saying this, he left the spot angrily. The director who was startled immediately contacted Dhanush. Dhanush while speaking to the director angrily said, "I am also a big actor in Tamil Nadu."Tension prevailed at the shooting spot because of this.
All is well with Samantha
Actress Samantha had to take a small break from projects due to skin problems. It is worth mentioning that the actress had missed the big projects like Shankar’s ‘I’ and Manirathnam’s ‘Kadal’. However, the actress has recovered and is back to the form.
She has already resumed shooting for her Telugu film directed by Nandini Reddy starring Siddarth in lead role. She will soon kick-start her Telugu projects with leading actors. Prithviraj to direct a film
Malayalam actor Prithviraj has acted in many Tamil films including Mozhi, Satham Podathey and Ninaithale Inikkum. He became a producer and produced a film titled Urumi which was directed by ace cinematographer Santosh Sivan.
This film was released in Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi and Telugu languages. He is once again producing a Malayalam film. He has also planned to direct this film. Prithviraj is currently acting in a Hindi film directed by Anurag Kashyap. It was also mentioned that he will be directing a Hindi film but Prithviraj has denied this news.
He said," When I became a producer, I started producing Malayalam films. The first film that I will be directing will also be a Malayalam film. I am doing lots of research to select a good story but I will not direct a film immediately. I will direct after completing the films that I am currently acting. I have also an idea of directing a Hindi film. This will happen in future."
I will exist even if there is no cinema! : Ajith
The whole industry was shaken seeing the Billa 2’s stupendous opening. That is the magic of Ajith. He without bothering about all these things started making corrections in Vishnuvardhan script for his next film and started concentrating in the film.
He has also started reducing his weight for his role. As per the advice of Sunil, a gym master from Bangalore, Ajith has changed his food habits and started exercising heavily. He has bid adieu to rice. Now his diet consists of boiled vegetables for breakfast, Raagi food for lunch and fruits for dinner.
In a week’s time Ajith has reduced his weight by 10 kilos. He had asked Vishnuvardhan who had come to see him to click a photo of him in his mobile phone and saw his fitness. Vishnuvardhan has uploaded this photo in his Twitter. Thala fans are very cheerful seeing this. The friends who left me during my hard times did not return. Enough sir. In this world there no need to help one another. It is enough if they allow us to live peacefully. Even if this cinema is not there, I can survive. I can somehow manage. I only created this loneliness’ for me. I have also friends now but they are truthful to me.

Simbhu surprise to Dhanush
Simbhu and Dhanush who were at logger heads became very friendly at the SIIMMA Awards functions which were held in Dubai recently. Everyone is surprised seeing both of them partying together.
The whole Tamil industry was stunned seeing the birthday bash of Dhanush. The reason for this is that Simbhu has only hosted this party.Simbhu had invited Dhanush’s close friends, family friends, actors and actresses who have acted with Dhanush for this party without the knowledge of Dhanush. The whole place was decorated in a grandeur manner.

Ajith has been invited for a cameo role in Sridevi’s film
Sridevi was the number one heroine in Tamil. She also rocked in Hindi films. She was the only leading actress in the 70s and 80s.Later on she married the Hindi producer Bony Kapoor and quit acting.
After a long Sabbath, she is acting in a film titled English Vinglish. The story of this film is about a housewife who suffers because she does not know English. This film is being produced in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.
Rajni was approached to do a cameo in the Tamil version. Rajnikanth and Sridevi had paired in numerous Tamil films. Rajnikanth has refused citing his health conditions.Now Ajith has been approached. One of the important crew member of English Vinglish said, "We had requested Ajith to do a cameo role in our film. We are holding talks with him regard to do this." It is understood that Ajith is likely to act in this film.
Karthi says that Saguni is not a flop film
Karthi’s Paruthiveeran, Paiyaa, Aayirathil Oruvan, Naan Mahan Alla and Siruthai were super hit films. Recently his film Saguni was released. There were two kinds of views about this film.
There was a view that this film was a flop and on the other side, there were news that Saguni is doing brisk business.Karthi had already announced that the film is doing well at box office in all the areas and the distributors are yielding good profits.
When asked Karthi whether Saguni is a flop film, he said, "Saguni is a film based on the present political situation. People have received it well. I will not agree that Saguni is a flop film. Actress Amala takes up acting after 20 years
Amala is going to act after a gap of 20 years. She had acted in numerous Tamil films including Mythili Ennai Kathali, Mella Thirandhathu Kadhavu, Velaikaran and Sathya. She loved Telugu actor Nagarjuna and married him. After marriage she quit acting.
Their son Akhil is also going to son the lead role in a film. Amala was also the founder of Blue Cross Society in Hyderabad. She was away from cinema for 20 years. Now she has taken acting in a film titled Life is Beautiful directed by Sekhar Kammula.
Amala while speaking about this said, "When I was approached for the film Life is Beautiful, I was little reluctant because I was been avoiding camera for the last 20 years. I was not confident about acting but Sekhar was continuously compelling me. Because of this I agreed. My last film which I had acted was in 1992. After this I started concentrating on my son and social work. Now my son Akhil has grown up. He does not need my attention. Then I thought that what was wrong in acting. I have not decided to act continuously. It depends on the situation." Amala’s husband Nagarjuna while commenting about this said," Amala is donning mother’s role but she is so youthful that she can don sister’s role."
Parthiban dons the role of Veena Malik’s friend
Actor Parthiban is donning the role of Veena Malik’s friend in the Kannada remake of the Hindi film The Dirty Picture. The Hindi film The Dirty Picture is based on the life of the late South Indian glamour queen Silk Smitha.
This film was a super duper hit. Apart from this, this film fetched the National Award for Vidya Balan for her best acting. Now this film is being remade in Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada languages.

Rana Daggubati to star in Ajith Kumar film?
Bollywood actor Rana Daggubati had apparently expressed that he wanted to make his debut in Tamil films. The actor, who was supposed to star in Vetrimaran's Vada Chennai, had walked out of the film for some unknown reasons. Grapevine has it that Rana has been approached to act in Ajith Kumar's forthcoming film.
According to a leading daily, director Vishnuvardhan recently met Rana Daggubati and narrated the story of his untitled movie. It is said that the actor was impressed by the storyline and has given his verbal consent. However, he is yet to sign officially.
The ensemble cast of the film includes: Ajith Kumar, Nayantara, Arya, Suman Ranganathan, Tapasee Pannu, Mahesh Manjrekar, Atul Kulkarni and others. The movie produced by AM Rathnam is expected to release in November 2012.

Abhishek Bachchan in the Hindi remake of Naan Ee
Naan Ee is running to packed houses in almost all the theatres in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
At this juncture, director Rajamouli has decided to remake this film in Hindi in 3D format.
Rajamouli has once again proved that he can narrate anything tastily if there is a strong screenplay. This film is also a mega hit in Telugu also.
Rajamouli has decided to screen this film to Abhishek Bachchan in order to cast him in the lead role in this remake film. If Abhishek Bachchan likes the film, Rajamouli has decided to cast him in Nani’s role. He has also mentioned that Sudeep and Samantha who had acted in Naan Ee will also act in the Hindi version.
Simbhu croons for Srikanth’s film
Simbhu is very much interested in singing. Apart from singing for his films, he is also interested to sing in the films that has other actors in the lead roles.
He had earlier sung a song for the film Mambattiyan which had Prashanth in the lead role. That song turned to be a mega hit.
At this juncture, Simbhu has sung a Kuthu song which begins with the lines Nachukku Nachukku for the film Ethiri Enn 3 which has Srikanth in the lead role.

Samantha to quit acting because of her skin allergy
Actress Samantha is suffering from skin allergy. She is staying in Hyderabad and getting treated but the result is negative.

J G Krishna is producing a film titled Vazhipokkan under the banner Movie Lounge. The title of this film has been changed as Shiva, Ramya, Michael.
This film is being produced in Tamil and Kannada languages.
Anbu Cheliyan is directing the Tamil version while the Kannada version is being directed by A K Siva Surya.
Mithun is donning the lead role while Tejaswi is pairing with him. Vivek is for the first time donning the villain role. He has changed his getup to act in this film. Dhanush+Amala+Sargunam!
Dhanush, Amala and Sargunam are joining hands in a film. The film is titled Sotta Vaalakutty. Producer Kathiresan who had earlier produced films like Polladhavan and Aadukalam is producing this film. Even before this film, there is a connection between these three.
In Vaagai Sooda Vaa, Sargunam had chosen Amala Paul for the female lead role but she was unable to act in this film because of her call sheet problems. Later on Sargunam signed Iniya for the female lead role. At that point time Sargunam had assured Amala Paul that they will join hands in the next film.
Amala Paul was supposed to pair with Dhanush in 3. Even in the advertisements Amala Paul’s name was mentioned. Then later on due to unknown reasons she was ousted out of the film. Shruthi donned the female lead role in 3.
Amala Paul who had earlier missed the opportunity with Sargunam and Dhanush has now made it in a single film.
Is it wrong to act after marriage? Mamta Mohandas
Mamta Mohandas asks that whether it is wrong to act after marriage. Mamta Mohandas had acted in Tamil films Sivappathigaram, Guru En Aalu and Thadaiyara Thaakka. She is currently acting in Malayalam films. She said, "The Tamil film Thadaiyara Thaakka had fetched me a good name commercially.

Not me!: Udhayanidhi
After the great success of Naan Ee, there is news about director Rajamouli everywhere. There is news that Rajamouli is going to direct a direct Tamil film which is to be produced under the banner Red Giant Movies and Udhayanidhi Stalin will don the lead role.
When asked Udhayanidhi Stalin about this, he said, "There is no truth in this news. I had met Rajamouli sir one year back. I have still not seen Naan Ee. I have met him at the audio launch of the film Maaveeran. This is the dubbed version of the Telugu film Magadheera. I had released the Tamil version. I met him only this function. After this I did not meet him or speak to him.
Many of you are asking me that in which film I will act after Oru Kal Oru Kannadi. Sundar C after completing the film which has Vishal in the lead role will be directing a film for our production house. If I like that story, there is an opportunity for me to do the lead role. Only if the role suits me I will act otherwise I will only produce it. The film Neer Paravai which is being produced by me will hit the screens soon. After this I will be producing films to be directed by Sundar C, Samudrakani and Prabhu Solomon under the banner Red Giant Movies."
Audio launch of Bala’s Paradesi during the month of August
The audio CD of the film directed by Bala will be released during the month of August. Paradesi is a film based on a Malayalam novel titled Eriyum Thanal. This film has Adharva and Vedika in the lead roles. Bala has completed Paradesi in a shot span of time.
Now works like dubbing and re-recording is going on. At this juncture, Bala has decided to launch the audio of this film next month. He has also planned to release the film before Deepavali.
After this, Bala will be directing a film which will have Vishal in the lead role. The story of this film is also being adapted from a Malayalam novel. Both of them joined hands in the film Avan Ivan. This film fetched a good name for Vishal.
Ajith says his "PARENTS" are his rolemodels
The reason he says is, "They never interfered in our (Ajith & his brothers) decisions. Every time we did something, they would tell me not to regret it." They provided the basic education and lots of love and care, but how the three boys lived their lives was completely their call.
I understood that the word freedom is synonymous with responsibility at this point of my life. "As long as we were keeping ourselves occupied, our parents never invaded our decision. That is something i would like to pass onto my children. Give them the basic foundation, and let them decide what they want to do in life. That is probably the greatest asset that i have in life"

A surprise in Kumki audio launch
Super Star Rajnikanth’s name did not figure in the invitation card. It was mentioned that Kamal Haasan will release the audio CD and Surya will receive it.
But what happened was a sweet surprise. Today Rajnikanth had phoned Prabhu and told him that he will be attending the function. Because of this large number of police personnel were pressed into service at Sathyam Cinemas where the function was supposed to be held.
Rajni while speaking on this occasion said, "Normally I don’t participate in any of the functions. I have been invited for many functions. If I go for a function, I have to attend all the functions. That is why I avoid all the functions. I feel very shy to participate in the functions. To tell the truth attending a function is like running away from a person who has lent me money. They are so affectionate. It is a great pride when Kamal was approached to do a Hollywood film by the Lord of Rings producer. It is not pride for Tamil cinema alone. It is a great pride for Indian cinema. Prabhu had invited me for this function. Immediately I told Prabhu, "No Prabhu. I am not participating in any of the functions." I made up my mind not to attend this function. Yesterday Prabhu Solomon came to my house to give the invitation of this function. I immediately called Prabhu on the phone and told him," What Prabhu? I already told you that I will not attend the function."
He said, "No Anna (elder brother). Giving the invitation is our duty." Even while going to bed I did not have the intention of attending this function. Everyone while speaking said that Rajni is one trunk and Kamal is another trunk. Vikram Prabhu has climbed with their help and is kissing Tamil cinema but he has not kissed Tamil cinema.
He has kissed his grandfather Shivaji Ganeshan. He is an akshayapathiram (meaning the vessel that never diminishes in its contents. Kamal and I came from there only. I became very close to him only at the time of the shooting of Padayappa. At that time he told me, "You have so far not lifted your shirt collar. Once you do it your buttons will burst." What a big word it was. Work hard Vikram like others said but don’t get scared. After seeing the songs and trailer, I feel that Kumki will be a great success. Vikram Prabhu, welcome to Tamil cinema. My wishes."
Kamal released the audio CD in the presence of Rajnikanth which was received by Surya.
Dhanush is a busy bee
Dhanush is currently acting in the film titled Mariyaan directed by Bharat Bala. The shooting of this film took place in foreign locales and now the cast and crew has returned back to Chennai.
It is understood that 80% of Mariyaan has been completed and because of this the crew is very cheerful. Bharat Bala who had directed A R Rahman’s album Vande Mataram is directing Mariyaan. A R Rahman has composed the music for this film.
The second schedule shooting of this film is to commence soon. At this juncture, Dhanush is a producing a film which will be having Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role. Director Vetrimaaran’s assistant will be directing this film. Once Dhanush completes the work connected with the productions, he will be simultaneously acting in the film Mariyaan and in the films to be directed by Sargunam and Vetrimaaran simultaneously. Apart from these, the Hindi film Raanjhnaa which he has donned the lead role is to hit the screens soon. It looks that Dhanush sir will be the busiest actor in the coming days.
Another British actress in Kollywood
Another London actress has come to Kollywood to compete with Amy Jackson. British model Amy Jackson made her debut as heroine through the Tamil film Madrasapattinam. Later on she continued to act in Hindi and Tamil films.
She is currently pairing with Vikram in the film I directed by Shankar. Now after Amy another British girl Anara is coming to Kollywood. She has made her debut through the film titled Kadhale Ennai Kadhali. Santosh is debuting as hero in this film.
Debutant director Shaan is directing this film. He while speaking about this film said, " A Tamil boys fall in love with a British girl. The parents of the boy refuse to accept the foreign girl. How Anara convinces them and becomes their daughter-in-law is the rest of the story. We were in search for a foreign girl who would suit Tamil cinema.
We had given advertisements in London newspapers. Seeing these advertisement 50 British girls approached us. Among them there was a girl with black hair and with looks of a Tamilian. We selected her. Her name is Anara. The shooting of the whole film took place in London. Nizhalgal Ravi and Mayilsami are also acting in this film. English actor Roy has donned the villain role. Vimal Raj has composed the music while Saravanan has handled the camera."
Thamanna says that whether she is interested or not in Tamil cinema
When asked Thamanna whether she was not interested in Tamil cinema she gave her reply. Thamanna for the last one year did not accept any Tamil cinema. She was concentrating only in Telugu and Hindi languages.
When asked her that why she is not accepting Tamil cinema, she said, "Currently I am very busy in Telugu films. All of them are excellent films. As far as Tamil is concerned I am getting lots of offers. If it has a good story I listen to them but I will accept if the role is suitable for me. I am very interested to allot dates for Tamil films.
Tamil films were the turning points in my career. Only Tamil films gave me an identity. Who said that I am not interested in Tamil films? I am really missing Kollywood industry. Even now I am in touch with all the Kollywood heroes with whom I have paired with. I keep on talking to them frequently. When I am in Chennai I feel at home. Next I am acting in a Hindi film. The shooting of this film is to commence soon."
Ponniyin Selvan to be directed by Selvaraghavan
After completing Erandam Ulagam, Selvaraghavan has decided to cast big stars Vikram, Arya and Jiva in his next film. Selvaraghavan has the policy of not revealing the details of his next film but for the first time he has mentioned about his next film.
He has mentioned, " I would love to make a film adapted from the famous classical novel Ponniyin Selvan written by the famous late novelist Kalki. The cast would be as follows. Jeeva will be donning the role of Vallavadevan. Kajal Agarwal will be donning the role of Kundhavai while Arya will don the role of Aadithya Karigalan. Vikram will don the role of Raaja Raaja Chozhan while Nayanthara will don the role of Nandhini."We have to wait and see whether Selvaraghavan’s dream project will materialize.
